Raye: Preaching mental health and her disasters in love at the BP Pulse arena
The Gen-Z sensation heads to Birmingham for her Sold out tour:
‘This Tour May Contain New Music’.
In preparation for her new album release dropping on 27th
March 2026, Raye will perform 40 different dates across the UK, Northern
Ireland, Europe and America.
The jazz-pop star will be joined on the road by her two sisters, Absolutely and Amma who will provide warm-up performances for audiences each night of the tour.
Raye's 2026 tour dates.Birmingham’s BP Pulse arena (previously known as the LG arena or Resorts World Arena) has been the host to thousands of household names- Kasabian, McFly, Charli xcx.
But for Raye, this tour gave her the chance to perform here
for the first time and what a way to do it by selling out two nights at
the venue.
Across both nights she performed to over 31,000
fans, which are huge statistics for any artists, especially for an independent one.
This gave her the opportunity to showcase her talents even more as well as highlight her growth since her beginning in the industry.
Performing more than 20 songs and being on stage for two hours, fans got to see how diverse Raye’s music is.
From singing jazz songs, all the way to R&B, the
night was fuelled by talent and musical ecstasy.
It would be wrong to call her show a concert and it certainly
wasn’t a gig- it was a performance.
The crowd were in marvel with her for the entirety of the
night.
The supporting acts were from her two just as equally as talented sisters, Absolutely and Amma.
Amma kicked off the night with her angelic voice and girl-next-door
look.
She had an amazing stage presence with seemed to come
naturally for her.
The way she engaged the crowd was incredible, telling funny
anecdotes and meanings behind her songs.
Absolutely came next and her quirky-sounding songs and looks
gave a contrast to the night- which in my opinion worked really well.
Singing a cover of the Abba classic ‘I Have A Dream’, Absolutely
effortlessly engaged the crowd into a musical oblivion.
Absolutley, Raye and Amma (From left to right).
Raye was born for the stage.
The way she walked on and got the crowd screaming in awe without
even having to say anything was incredible to watch.
Wearing her classic, glittery, red dress she appeared on the
stage with her band before shortly singing the 2025 favourite, ‘WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!’.
From there she played a range of fan favourites: ‘The Thrill
Is Gone’, ‘Oscar Winning Tears’ and ‘Prada’.
She was joined on stage by a full symphony band which turned
her already-good-sounding songs into what sounded like classical masterpieces
She also sang a number of new music that will appear on her upcoming album, ‘THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE’: ‘Beware…The South London Lover Boy’, ‘Click Clack Symphony’ and ‘Nightingale Lane’.
Towards the latter half of the performance, Raye tuned in to
her slower tempo songs and really honed in to the importance of mental health
and not giving up.
She repeated the message "It will be okay" just before switching
the conversation to her experience with sexual assault.
Doing this made the entire audience emotional but you could tell that the message she was hoping to spread was made clear, solidifying her into being a role model for her younger fans.
The atmosphere was then switched to feature a segment that many
fans online call their favourite- Rave.
The big ‘Raye’ lettering on the stage swapped the Y to a V
to indicate the point in her show where her first singles would be played- ‘You
Don’t Know Me’, ‘Secrets’ and of course, ‘Escapism’.
-The more upbeat, rap-like songs.
Green strobe lights started flashing and the people in the
seats got up to dance.
It was definitely the most exciting part about the show in my opinion.
This Tour May Contain New Music will continue its journey around the Europe and America until May this year which means thousands of more fans will get to experience the sensation that is Raye.
Her new album will be released at midnight tomorrow and
after hearing the preview of some of the songs on the tour, she will undoubtebly
have a few more chart toppers.
Although she’s been singing for years, she’s only just starting and for Raye, the end is nowhere in sight.
